One way to replace a missing tooth would be to provide you with a fixed bridge. This is where teeth either side of the gap are cut down so that they can be crowned. These can last for a long time, and before implants, it was what we did to replace teeth most of the time. The problem is, we remove a lot of healthy enamel from the teeth which can affect the nerve. This can end up needing a root canal filling, and possibly, eventual tooth loss. Leaving you with two teeth missing rather than just one tooth missing.
If your budget allows, an implant is a much better solution, as it can be a fixed crown that screwed into the implant and has a much better long term survival.
