There are several factors that determine how long a dental implant will last. Some of the biggest factors are how susceptible you are to gum disease, and whether you've lost your teeth (that need replacing with implants) through gum disease, and how well you look after them.

If you do look after your implants carefully, and we will show you exactly what you need to do for that, then there's no reason why an implant can't last you many, many years and even the rest of your life. An implant is the option that most dentists would choose to have in their own mouth, simply because it's the best way of replacing a missing tooth.
