Fran’s Patient Story: Multiple-Tooth Implant Treatment

Fran shares her experience of having multiple-teeth implant treatment at The Implant Centre, from endless fillings and tooth loss to implants and the freedom to eat and live normally.

My teeth were lasting fairly well, but then they started getting more and more fillings, it was the molars that were crumbling. Then of course, once you've got big fillings, eventually over time, a little bit starts to shave away from the side of the tooth. Filling after filling, after filling with my old dentist, then she got to the point where she said: “There's not enough to put a crown on, these roots are going rotten. You've got to have them taken out”. Because it was affecting my health quite badly.
Joey then came to Hurst Dental Practice. He looked in my mouth and said: “You've got some more roots to come out that are badly infected”, and this is why you're still feeling a bit grotty. So, he took those out for me, and I said: “Well, what can I do about it? I've had a plate and now I've got no back teeth at all. So even if I've got another plate, there's nothing to attach it to”.
He looked at my mouth and he said: “If I had your teeth, Fran, I’d go for implants right away”. He recommended The Implant Centre. So hence I came to Patrick. And then Joey has done the follow-up work because Patrick put in the titanium screw for the implants, and it's all dovetailed in beautifully. I'm very pleased with the result.
Patrick was very, very good, very reassuring. He explained every stage of the procedure, and I am the sort of nosy person who will ask a lot of questions, he was very patient, and he answered them all beautifully. He showed me on screen my X-rays so I could see what he'd done for me. I'm rather pleased with it.
Well, I would say get it done sooner rather than later if you can afford it. So, when my husband says, would you like to go out for dinner dear? I don't have to think, well… if it's got something soft on the menu, then I think I’ll be alright. If I want to go out and have a steak, I can have one. If I want a nice crunchy apple, I can have one, I don't have to think about it. I can just eat normally. It gives me freedom again.
I just feel I've got my teeth back. They are expensive. They are a major investment. But they are so worth it, they truly are.
